Why this lab?

Given the importance of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the need to develop Industry 5.0 technologies nationally across government bodies and organizations, the Industry 5.0 and Intelligent Systems Laboratory was established. Its core question: how can these technologies transform different parts of business and society — and what should the implementation roadmap look like given the maturity of Iranian organizations?

In the lab, students at different levels learn new technologies through research projects, then work alongside more experienced members to solve real problems or develop needed products and services. The lab's experts visit industries on site and run joint working sessions to identify challenges and propose practical solutions based on smart-transformation and Industry 5.0 technologies — solutions that are then delivered jointly with other labs and research centers.

Vision
“Truly turning science into technology and wealth”

Two dimensions of our work

01

Foresight and R&D

Research in digital transformation, AI, business intelligence and other technologies emerging from Industry 5.0.

02

Demand-driven work

Making these technologies usable in the country's industrial and service organizations and defining joint applied projects — up to establishing innovation centers for digital transformation, AI or Industry 5.0.

Goals

The lab's goals

  1. 1Advance applied research in digital-transformation technologies and Industry 5.0
  2. 2Develop practical solutions for making systems and processes intelligent, grounded in business process re-engineering
  3. 3Facilitate academia–industry collaboration to solve real challenges of businesses and the public sector
  4. 4Push the frontiers of knowledge in artificial intelligence and industrial data analytics
  5. 5Design and build prototypes of smart production and service systems
  6. 6Promote data-driven decision-making, business intelligence and decision-support systems
  7. 7Generate knowledge through master's theses and up-to-date scientific reports
  8. 8Provide a platform for training and empowering people in smart-industry technologies
